club 27 / typography poster design /

is a group consisting mostly of popular musicians, artists, or actors who died at age 27.

It originated with a claimed “statistical spike” for the death of musicians at that age.

This project aims to present my favorite members of the club, who are a symbol of qualitative music and art. Through typography I suggest parts of their emotionality, character and works. For example, Janis Joplin was ridiculed for her appearance, so her face is hidden in the poster, but in the foreground are lyrics from her renowned songs.

Kurt Cobbain shot himself in the head with a rifle, Jim Morrison was a prisoner of his own mind, Jimi Hendrix electrified the whole scene with his guitar, Amy Winehouse looked like she had a black bird in her chest, and Basquiat – like a real artist, had many faces.

Each poster is individual in itself and is created with the clear goal of being able to be implied in a real environment, such as in clubs, on walls, clothes and so on.
